What conditions does Oana not treat?

Oana is a PCOS specialist. The narrower the focus, the better the care — which means there are also clear lines around what Oana doesn't do.

Oana does not:

  • Treat conditions outside PCOS and PCOS-pattern hormonal symptoms. Thyroid disorders, endometriosis, fibroids, autoimmune conditions, and other endocrine conditions that aren't PCOS are outside Oana's scope. Your clinician can flag if your symptoms suggest something other than PCOS and recommend you see a specialist in that area.
  • Replace your primary care provider. Oana handles PCOS-related care. Annual physicals, vaccinations, acute illness, mental health crisis support, and general preventive care should stay with your regular doctor.
  • Provide fertility treatment. Oana is not a fertility clinic. We don't manage IVF, IUI, or ovulation induction for the purpose of conceiving. If you're actively trying to conceive, your reproductive endocrinologist is the right specialist — though your Oana clinician can help you prepare your body before you start trying.
  • Diagnose PCOS formally. Oana clinicians evaluate symptom patterns and treat what's consistent with PCOS. A formal diagnosis — with bloodwork, hormone panels, and imaging — typically requires in-person care.
  • Handle medical emergencies. Anything urgent — severe pain, chest pain, suicidal thoughts, severe allergic reactions — needs immediate care. Call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

If you're not sure whether what you're experiencing falls inside Oana's scope, take the medical intake. Your clinician will be honest with you about whether Oana is the right next step.
