How do I use HairPlusPlus?

HairPlusPlus is a topical spray applied directly to the scalp once daily, at bedtime.

A few core rules:

  • Apply to clean, dry scalp. After washing your hair, towel-dry it and let your scalp fully dry before applying. Wet hair and scalp can dilute the medication and reduce absorption.
  • Spray directly on the affected areas of the scalp. Typically the crown, the part line, and any other areas where you're treating thinning. Part your hair so the spray reaches the scalp directly, not just the hair length.
  • Massage gently into the scalp. This helps distribute the medication and improve absorption.

Don't rinse, wash, or touch the treated area for several hours. The medication needs time to absorb. The bedtime timing is intentional — it lets the spray sit on the scalp overnight without interference from styling products, water, or activity.

  • Wash your hands after application. Both for hygiene and to prevent transferring the medication to other parts of your body.

A few practical points:

  • HairPlusPlus is safe to use on color-treated hair. It won't fade or alter your hair color.
  • It's gentle enough for all skin types, though some women experience mild scalp irritation in the first few weeks as the skin adjusts.
  • Continue your usual hair care routine. Shampoo, conditioner, styling products, and color treatments can be used normally — just give HairPlusPlus time to absorb after application before doing anything else.
  • Don't apply more than prescribed. Applying more than the once-daily protocol won't speed up results, but it can increase scalp irritation.
  • Don't apply to broken or irritated skin. If you have a cut, sunburn, or active scalp condition, wait until it heals before resuming HairPlusPlus.

If you miss a dose, apply the spray as soon as you remember (or at your next bedtime if it's already morning). Don't double up — applying more medication won't catch you up, and it can cause irritation.

About the temporary shedding phase. Like Oral Minoxidil, HairPlusPlus can cause an increase in shedding in the first 2 to 8 weeks as the hair cycle resets. This is normal and usually a sign the treatment is working — older resting hairs being pushed out to make room for new growth. If shedding is bothersome or seems excessive, message your Oana clinician, but don't stop the treatment without talking to your clinician first.
