HairPlusPlus is Oana's prescription topical hair growth spray, applied directly to the scalp. It combines three active ingredients in a single formulation designed to address different parts of the hair growth cycle at once.
The three actives:
- Minoxidil increases blood flow to hair follicles and extends the active growth phase of the hair cycle. FDA-approved for hair growth.
- Retinoic Acid (Tretinoin) clinically shown to enhance Minoxidil's effectiveness. It works by activating skin enzymes that Minoxidil needs to function properly. In some studies, Retinoic Acid plus Minoxidil once per day produced results equivalent to Minoxidil twice per day on its own.
- Latanoprost originally FDA-approved as an eye drop for glaucoma (reducing pressure inside the eye), where it was found to also increase eyelash growth. Subsequent research showed it increases hair density when applied to the scalp.
The combination is designed to address PCOS-pattern hair loss from multiple angles simultaneously. For women whose hair loss has plateaued on topical Minoxidil alone, HairPlusPlus often produces more meaningful results because the additional ingredients amplify and extend Minoxidil's effect.
A few things worth knowing about HairPlusPlus:
