Can I use sunscreen or makeup with HairlessHype?

Yes. Sunscreen and makeup are compatible with HairlessHype, with one important note: wait for the cream to dry completely before layering anything on top of it.

Drying typically takes a few minutes after application. Once the skin no longer feels wet or tacky to a gentle touch, you can apply sunscreen, moisturizer, makeup, or any other products on top.

A few practical points.

  • Order matters. HairlessHype goes on first (after cleansing and any toner). Wait for it to dry. Then sunscreen. Then makeup if you're wearing it.
  • Sunscreen is particularly important. The azelaic acid in HairlessHype is generally well-tolerated with sun exposure, but treated skin can be more reactive than untreated skin. Daily SPF on the areas where you're applying HairlessHype protects against irritation and post-inflammatory pigmentation.
  • Talk to your clinician about other prescription or over-the-counter products you're using on your face. If you're applying Tretinoin, Retinol, Salicylic Acid, or other actives in the same area, your clinician can help you build a routine that avoids over-irritation. Some combinations work well together; others can cause unnecessary skin reactivity.

If your skin is reactive in the first few weeks of using HairlessHype, you may want to simplify your other skincare temporarily — using gentler cleansers and skipping other actives until your skin has adjusted.
